Assistance League of Diablo Valley and its auxiliaries, Buena Vista Auxilary and Assisteens® Auxiliary, is a nonprofit member volunteer organization dedicated to improving lives in our community through hands-on programs.

Celebrating Over 40 Years of Service to the Community of Contra Costa County, CA

Members of Assistance League of Diablo Valley encourage you to learn more about the chapter, Buena Vista Auxiliary, Assisteens and the many ways you can become involved and make a difference in the communities of Contra Costa County from Walnut Creek to Concord, Lamorinda, Richmond, Antioch, Pleasant Hill, San Ramon, Clayton, Danville, Martinez and Alamo, California. 

Monthly meetings of the membership are held September through May at St. Stephen's Church, 1101 Keaveny Ct., Walnut Creek, CA. the June Annual Meeting is held at a to be determined site each year.

All funds raised by Diablo Valley chapter stay in Contra Costa County to benefit residents.

  • Raised $660,000 in fiscal year 2009-2010 to return to the community
  • Provided new clothes and shoes for 3,480 elementary school children
  • Awarded $87,950 in scholarships to 18 young adults
  • Donated 220 food boxes for families on CalWorks
  • Assembled 570 Baby Bags for infants at risk
  • Supplied emergency clothing to 180 survivors of assault
  • Provided 200 backpacks with emergency supplies for teens in crises
  • Donated first apartment supplies for 100 emancipating foster youth
  • Donated 100 Teddy Bears to Sheriff's deputies for comfort to children in critical situations
  • Provided 31 senior year sponsorships to foster youth
  • Screened 1,600 preschoolers for vision and hearing problems
  • Performed educational puppet shows for 5,000 school children
  • Read monthly and provided a gift book to 960 second graders
  • Donated 2000 books to classrooms and school libraries
  • Awarded $5,000 in teacher grants for student enrichment programs
  • Performed musical revues for 800 residents of care facilities
  • Made 5,200 reassurance phone calls to homebound clients
  • Funded 2,304 hours of tutoring for 288 children and donated $10,000 in books and school supplies
  • Assisteens hosted 2 pizza and gift parties for 60 disadvantaged children; corresponded with and delivered baskets to homebound clients. Labeled library books for R.E.A.D. program.
