Assistance League Honored as a Nonprofit Partner by Lesher Newsmakers Speaker Series

Assistance League of Diablo Valley has been honored to be chosen as the nonprofit partner with NEWSMAKERS: Lesher Speaker Series for the Peggy Noonan program on February 15, 2010.
A video, produced by KTVU, of Assistance League's philanthropic contributions in the community will be presented to the audience before Ms. Noonan's program. Assistance League is grateful for this recognition of its Caring and Commitment in Action in Contra Costa County.

Each year, speakers are selected from the fields of politics, international affairs, journalism, sports and entertainment to present a broad array of engaging topics. Peggy Noonan will be speaker the evening of February 15, 2010.

Peggy Noonan is a widely admired columnist for The Wall Street Journal and the best selling author of eight books on American politics, history and culture. Noonan was a special assistant to President Ronald Reagan from 1984 to 1986. In 1988 she was chief speechwriter for Vice President George H. W. Bush when he ran for the presidency. Before entering the Reagan White House, Noonan was a producer at CBS News in New York.
