Thrift Shop Donation Guidelines
Items That Cannot Be Accepted
Assistance League Thrift Shop reserves the choice of selling only quality merchandise and recycling donations of less quality in the most appropriate venue.
Please, check items you are donating and to be sure they are in good condition.
Following is a list of items not acceptable:
- Computers, keyboards, monitors, fax machines, printers, scanners
- Curtain rods, draperies, shades, blinds
- Food items, bread machines
- Furniture - large pieces
- Glass mason jars and tops
- Holiday lights and trees
- Infant cribs, car seats, high chairs, swings and play pens
- Magazines (other than Cooking, Travel or Decorating)
- Mattresses, electric blankets, bed pillows and sleeping bags
- Paint, wallpaper rolls, chemicals and batteries
- Personal hygiene items: shavers, curling irons,
- Hair dryers, hot rollers and used cosmetics
- Records, albums and cassette tapes
- Skates, roller blades, skis, boots and poles
- Stero componets, speakers
- Telephones
- Tires and snow chains
- Toys - broken, incomplete puzzles and games
- Technical books, textbooks, Reader's Digest, encyclopedias
- Typewriters - electric or manual
- TVs, VCRs and microwaves
- Wire hangers and colored plastic tube hangers
The chapter reserves the choice of selling only quality merchandise and recycling less quality donations in the most appropriate venue.
Your donations are very much appreciated. They benefit children and adults in need and at risk in our community.
For safety and security reasons, donations are encouraged during store hours:
