Become a Member

Membership Orientation Classes are given twice a year, from August to November and February to May.

During orientation you:

1. Attend monthly chapter meetings, September through June on the second Wednesday of the month. Meetings are held at St. Stephens Church, 1101 Keaveny Ct., Walnut Creek, Ca.

2. Attend four monthly orientation classes on the first Wednesday of the month begining in August or January.

3. Pay $65.00 annual membership dues.

4. Participate in orientation at Assistance League Thrift Shop and each of eight community programs:

  • Community Outreach -- Responding to community needs.
  • Foresight -- Preschool Vision and Hearing Screening.
  • The Kids On The Block -- Educational Puppet Shows.
  • Operation School Bell® -- Kids, New Clothes, Smiles.
  • R.E.A.D. -- Read, Enrich, Achieve, Discover.
  • Show on the Road -- Bringing a Song of Cheer.
  • TeleCare -- Daily Reassurance Telephone Call.
  • Scholarships -- Helping Those Who Have Helped Others.

As a Voting Member

After completing the orientation activities, if you decide to become a Voting member you would:

Attend chapter meetings. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday morning of the month September through June.

You choose to participate in some or all of the following:
1. Staff at the Way Side Inn Thrift Shop.

2. Participate on one of the fundraising support committees.

3. Participate in at least one community program. Each program takes varying amounts of time.

4. Serve on a chapter committee. Committees cover all aspects of operation of the chapter.

5. Pay annual dues of $65.00.

As a Nonvoting Member

After completing the orientation activities, if you decide to become a Nonvoting member you would:

Pay annual dues of $125 and you choose to participate in any or none of the activities.
